LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL CANADA ANNOUNCES NEW TREASURER
OTTAWA, ON – September 29, 2024; Little League Canada is pleased to announce that Mark Alenius is our new Treasurer, having been elected to the position by the Class A members at the Little League Canada Annual General Meeting on August 6th, 2024, in Kingston, Ontario.
We are looking forward to Mark’s contributions in his new role based on his wealth of experience gained in the financial world.
Below are some of Mark’s Little League Volunteer career highlights.
Mark resides in Calgary, Alberta, with his wife, Barbara and brings a wealth of experience from both the Little League field and the financial world to this vital role.
A dedicated volunteer since 1996, his journey with Little League began as a Tee Ball coach, coaching and guiding many young athletes, including his three sons, through the various age levels of the sport. His commitment extended to serving as Vice President – Development for Calgary West Little League and as an umpire and umpire instructor. His umpiring highlights include officiating at numerous Canada Region Baseball Championships, the Intermediate League Baseball World Series at Livermore, CA in 2014, and the Little League Baseball World Series at Williamsport, PA in 2023.
Professionally, he is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA-CA) with extensive experience in financial leadership roles. He is currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer for a privately-owned company in Alberta.
When asked about his new role, Mr. Alenius said “I am excited to bring my professional expertise and lifelong passion for Little League to this new role,” said Mark. “I look forward to working with the dedicated volunteers at Little League Canada to further its mission of building stronger individuals and communities through youth baseball and softball.”
Little League Canada’s Board of Directors is very excited to have Mark as our Treasurer, as the organization looks forward to continuing to offer our amazing programs to children and youth around the country.
